From the school year 2022-2023, according to the roadmap of the Ministry of Education and Training, grade 10 students will conduct academic and behavioral assessments according to Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT on assessment of middle and high school students. In 2022-2022, grade 10 will reform, using a new set of textbooks. I. How to classify students’ academic performance and conduct according to Circular 22

1.1. Conduct

According to Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDĐT, schools will only be assessed on training results and learning results. In which, the training results of students are evaluated “based on the requirements to be achieved in terms of main qualities and general competence according to levels appropriate to the subjects and grades specified in the Master Program and requirements for specific competencies specified in the subject program in the general education curriculum.”

The assessment of students’ training results is prescribed according to the following levels: Good, good, pass and fail.

1.2. Academic ability

For the subject assessed by comments

– In a semester, students’ learning results in each subject are assessed according to 01 (one) out of 02 (two) levels: Pass, Failed.

+ Pass: There are enough times of examination and assessment as prescribed in this Circular and all times are assessed as Pass.

+ Level Unsatisfied: The remaining cases.

– For the whole school year, students’ learning results for each subject are assessed according to 01 (one) out of 02 (two) levels: Pass, Failed.

+ Pass level: Semester II academic results are assessed at Pass level.

+ Unsatisfactory level: Semester II academic results are assessed as Unsatisfactory.

For the subject assessed by comments combined with assessment by grades

– Semester grade point average (hereinafter abbreviated as DTE)mhk) for each subject is calculated as follows:

For the subject assessed by comments combined with assessment by scores, the average score is used to evaluate the student’s learning results in each semester, and the average score is used to evaluate the student’s learning results. throughout the school year. II. How to classify students’ academic performance and conduct according to Circular 26

1. How to classify high school academic ability according to Circular 26

The criteria for grading high school students (level 3) are specified in Article 13 of the Regulation promulgated together with Circular 58, as amended by Clause 6, Article 2 of Circular 26/2020/TT-BGDDT as follows: :

Good rating if the following criteria are met:

– The average score of all subjects is 8.0 or higher, in which the average score of 01 out of 03 subjects in Mathematics, Literature and Foreign Language is 8.0 or higher; especially for students in specialized classes of specialized high schools, they must add the condition that the average grade point average of the subject is 8.0 or higher;

– There is no subject with GPA below 6.5;

– Subjects are assessed by passing comments.

Graded fairly if the following criteria are met:

– The average score of all subjects is 6.5 or higher, of which the average score of 01 out of 03 subjects of Mathematics, Literature and Foreign Language is 6.5 or higher; especially for students in specialized classes of specialized high schools, they must add the condition that the GPA of the specialized subject is 6.5 or higher;

– There is no subject with GPA below 5.0;

– Subjects are assessed by passing comments.

Average rating if the following criteria are met:

Note:

– If the average score of the semester or the average for the whole year reaches the level of each category of good or good, but because the results of only one subject are lower than the prescribed level for that category, the academic performance will be ranked lower. is adjusted as follows:

2. How to classify the conduct of high school students

According to Clause 2, Article 3 of the Regulations promulgated together with Circular 58, students’ conduct is classified into four categories: good, good, average, and weak after each semester and the whole school year.

In which, also according to this Regulation, the criteria for grading student conduct are specified in Article 4 as follows:

1. Good type:

a) Strictly comply with school rules; well observe the laws and regulations on social order and safety and traffic safety; actively participate in the fight against negative actions, crime prevention and social evils;

b) Always respect teachers, teachers, elders; love and help young children; has a sense of collective building, solidarity, being trusted and loved by you;

c) Actively cultivate moral qualities, lead a healthy, simple and modest lifestyle; take care and help the family;

d) Complete the study tasks, have a sense of rising, be honest in life and in study;

d) Actively exercise, maintain hygiene and protect the environment;

e) Participating fully in educational activities and activities organized by the school; actively participate in activities of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union;

2. Fair type:

Complying with the provisions of Clause 1 of this Article but not reaching the level of good; There are still shortcomings, but promptly corrected after teachers, teachers and friends give feedback.

3. Medium type:

There are some shortcomings in the implementation of the provisions of Clause 1 of this Article, but the level is not serious; after being reminded, education has been absorbed and corrected, but progress is still slow.

4. Weak type:

Has not met the average rating criteria or has one of the following defects:

a) There is a serious or repeated violation in the implementation of the provisions of Clause 1 of this Article, which has been educated but has not yet been rectified;

b) Being disrespectful, insulting dignity and honor, infringing upon the body of teachers and school staff; offend your honor or dignity or that of others;

c) Cheating in studying, testing and taking exams;

d) Fighting, disrupting order and peace at school or in society; traffic safety violations; cause damage to public property or property of others.

In the above academic ranking criteria, students should pay attention to such behaviors as: Disrespectful, insulting the honor and dignity of others; cheating in study, test, exam; fighting, causing disorder inside or outside the school… so as not to be judged for weak conduct.

The grading of conduct for the whole school year will be mainly based on the second semester’s behavior rating and the student’s progress (according to Article 3 of the Regulations). Therefore, if the student’s first semester results are not good, they can still try in the second semester to improve the behavior rating.

3.1 Scoring method:

3.2 Academic grading criteria:

  • Excellent category: The average score of all subjects is 8 or higher, no test score is below 6.5.
  • Good grade: The average score for all subjects is from 6.5 to 7.9, there is no average score below 5.0.
  • Average grade: The average score for all subjects is from 5 to 6.4, there is no average score below 3.5.
  • Weak category: The average score for all subjects is from 3.5 to 4.9, there is no average score below 2.0.
  • Poor category: remaining cases.

If the average score of a subject is too low, the student will be graded down by 2 or more grades, the student will only be given 1 level down.

4. How to consider and recognize student title

Pursuant to Clause 8, Article 1 of Circular 26/2020/TT-BGDĐT, the consideration and recognition of the title of excellent student and advanced student is regulated as follows:

– Recognition of the title of excellent student semester or the whole school year, if they achieve good conduct and good academic performance.

– Recognition of achieving the title of advanced student semester or the whole school year, if they achieve good behavior or higher and have good academic performance or higher.

– Students who achieve outstanding achievements or make great progress in study and practice are awarded certificates of merit by the Principal.

Thus, the recognition of the title of excellent student and advanced student will be based on the student’s academic performance and conduct rating. Students must simultaneously achieve good conduct and good academic performance to be a good student. Cases of good academic performance but good behavior or good academic performance will only be awarded to advanced students.
